Happy (boring) Birthday to Sam!!

Yesterday was Sam's wonderful birthday. He had a long day at school. The whole thing on his birthday is that I have agreed to go to any hole in the wall he wants to go to for dinner. I am usually a chain restaurant gal and rarely branch out especially if there is only one of that restaurant in existence. He has been preparing me for these crazy buffets or some weird Chinese place that looks like a very old hotel. Well when Sam got home from school, he was very tired and fell asleep while I was finishing work. He then decided that we should go out to eat a different night since he didn't feel like it. Boring!! We ended up having chicken salad sandwiches for dinner (which he does love at least) and then after his nap, I did convince him to come to Walmart with me. That was about the extent of the evening. We did end the night with a cheesecake that I got for him. It was so yummy. So over all it was pretty boring for me but he loved to just sit and have a relaxing evening doing nothing at all!! I guess it was just good enough for him to be together!! (I love adding in the cheesiness every once in a while!)

Oh and this is the picture of him blowing them out except for the camera didn't take until after he was finished.I am getting him a gps for his birthday. He made me promise that I wouldn't get anything else since that was so expensive. (It is part of our Christmas too) I stuck to my promise, even though usually I would just buy him more presents anyway. We decided we couldn't live without the gps any longer especially after the other night when our friends came into town so Sam made a map of Boston! That is the last time for that. 4 pages taped together!!

We ordered our Garmin today!! I will be so excited not to have to print out directions to every little place we go out here.

Happy Birthday Sam!! It's ok to have boring birthdays. It gives a good excuse to celebrate over a longer period of time. I'm pretty sure my birthday celebration lasted for 10 days.

Ginger, hole in the wall restaurants scare me too. I hope you don't get sick!! Good luck!!

It sounds like you had a nice, boring day Sam. Make sure and take Ginger to some really scary Thai restaurant. Too bad you don't live closer to us we have a scary one that Tyler just loves. It has gold fish at least the size of my hand in their tank. Doesn't that sound appetizing in a Thai Restaurant? Anyway you've gotta for sure cash in on those birthday wishes!

The gps sounds nice. Is it one that you hook right into your car? That's pretty high tech. I bet it will really come in handy when you type in the crazy restaurant that you go to!

Garmin woot woot. Cool I'm excited to see how you like it. I love to just sit around on my birthday too. It sounds like it was a good, relaxing day. Ging, you could have at least made him a cake. Ha ha just kidding.

No he doesn't really like cake so cheesecake was the one for him. I was almost going to make him a cheesecake but I did it last year so I decided to take this year off and I forgot to borrower Kelly's springform pan to make it in.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM!!!!!!!! Really, I was going to text him, but I totally forgot. Oh well.
:0) I only go to hole in the wall restaurants if someone that I know and trust tries them first. Cancun Cafe, Mr. C's, Joe Morley's...

Happy late birthday Sam! We are glad you took it easy. We are convinced that there was some Sports Center in there somewhere that Ginger just didn't bother to mention. Anyway we hope you like your present. We got one last year for Christmas and it is our favorite thing in the whole world. I can sit in the back and it will tell me how fast Dustin is going. It has so much fun stuff. Let us know how you like it.

So I was checking in on your blog tonight and my dear husband saw me reading this post about "hole in the wall restaurants" on husbands birthdays.... he has been trying to get me to agree to this for 3 years....I AM NOT GIVING IN!

Anyways your blog made me laugh apparently it's a common thing for guys to try to get thier women to eat at random "stomach ache waiting to happen" places.

Hope you're doing well! Hello to you both from DC :)
