We are going to have another baby and we just found out that we are having a GIRL!!
We are so happy and anxious to grow our family. I am due the end of January so Bennett will almost be 18 months by then. We have some major shopping to do. It is nice that we don't really have to buy any of the basics this time around so it will just be fun shopping for clothes, clothes and more clothes!!
Bennett wasn't quite as excited as we were when I told him. This was pretty much his reaction.
We assume that he will have no idea what is going on and will wonder why this new baby will be around. It will be fun for them to grow up so close in age to one another. He will eventually love her!!
We have a great time over Easter. We were able to go to Utah to spend time with family and friends for the weekend. It went by so quickly but we had a fun time. I was nervous that Bennett would be too scared to be around everyone in my family but he loved it. He loved watching everyone and he even let them hold him.
Who can deny a little Easter photo shoot!!
Bennett's first Easter Eggs Hunt! He loved the eggs & he loved to watch all his cousins in action.

Then we just had fun hanging out on the deck. It was a great day.
Snuggling with Aunt Rachelle
Chris, Sadie & Maddie
Perfect night to hang out until after dark.
Bennett loved trying to imitate Chris.
We have a Bowling Tradition with Chris and Sadie almost every time we go to Utah. This was Bennett's first time joining us.
Bennett just loved my mom and had fun singing songs with her.
Bennett also thought it was the most hilarious thing when Sam was playing basketball.
Back at home and we now have a crawler!! It hit him a couple weeks ago that he could actually move forward. He loves exploring everywhere!!
Here are videos of his first few times crawling. He was crawling like he was a little tipsy but really got the hang of it especially if we would put something in front of him that he knew he wasn't supposed to play with like the laptop, remote or phone. He is professional now
Bennett is also climbing up and standing. Yikes!! He does have a few falls but he is pretty good.
Here are a few other random things going on around here:
We were trying to brave the blizzard we had here. We got over 40 inches in a couple weeks!! The wind doesn't make it the easiest snow to go out and play in.
Bennett gets super bed head throughout the night while he is going crazy moving all around in his crib. This is one of his many hair styles when he wakes up in the morning.
He has loved using his feet to hold things. This video is the perfect example. Maybe one day he will be playing the piano with feet!
Holy Cow!! He is almost 8 months old!! Here are some our favorite things about our little Bennett.
He loves to roll around and scoot backwards. He has not really figured out how to go forward unless he really wants something like the remote, then he can find the strength to do it. He also is getting up on his hands and knees and rocking. We are fine with him taking his time. Our apartment is far from being baby proofed.
Stuck from scooting backwards
Stuck Again!!
Looking like he is getting close to being stuck.
Yep!! Stuck again!!
He is really getting the hang of eating solids. He has loved everything he has tried so far.
First Eating!! He wasn't too thrilled.
Now he loves it and opens his mouth big for a bite!
He sleeps so well and when he wakes up too early in the morning, he will just sit and play and talk until I finally go get him (sometimes after an hour of waiting).
Bennett sits up really well. He does fall thinking that we are there to catch him. He is getting better and better at it though.
Instead of putting his arms out when I reach for him, he grabs my hands. I just love this.
Bennett is starting to give open mouth kisses. Sometimes he goes in for the attack when I am least expecting it. He won't do it while Sam is around though so Sam thinks I am making it up. I promise it is real!!
He just loves sitting in high chairs at restaurants now. He will stare down a person until they finally look at him then he will smile and get too shy so will look away. Hilarious when he is giving them the stare down.
Bennett just loves when Sam comes home from work. He will get so excited and bury his head into the ground.
He does so well in the car on our road trips. We can tell he gets sick of being the car towards the end but is a great trooper! We have a couple road trips coming up so we will see how he does.
Bennett is just so much fun and is growing so much. We just love having him around and can't wait for him to learn more new things!!
Here are a few more pictures for your entertainment!!
Valentine's Goofball!!
He is always doing something to make us laugh.
Loves rolling over while playing with his toys.
I was laying like this on the ground so he has to copy me. I just can't get over this picture. He is just the cutest!!
He could play in this exersaucer forever!! He just loves it.
Bennett is 3 months old at the end of this week!! It is crazy how time flies. If I would have blogged a couple months ago then this picture would have about summed up everything I was feeling at the time.
I was super exhausted. Sam is even a super hands on dad and pretty much takes over when he gets home from work. He was getting up for some of the feeding also. I can't even imagine how I would have felt if Sam wasn't there to help out. Bennett had a hard time breast feeding so we decided to go the pumping and then bottle feeding him the milk route. It does take extra time but it is worth it to me. So I had to pump every time he was feeding. He did have a hard time with acid reflux for the first 6 weeks and would burst out crying mid sleep and mid eating. It was so sad that we couldn't help him. My doctor gave us zantac to give to him twice a day and that has been a lifesaver. He is so much happier and does a lot better now. We also have him sleeping in his bouncer and that has helped a ton with the acid reflux. Crazy all these new mom things.
I feel like we are getting the hang of things this past month and things are sooo much easier and better. He is eating better, doesn't cry as much, sleeps at least a 5 hour stretch in the night (sometimes treats us with 8-9 hours) and I have gotten it down to only pumping 4 times a day and I have enough milk to cover it. So nice not to have to pump in the middle of the night anymore. Bennett is such a joy to have in our lives. He has been smiling for about a month now and we just love it. He definitely knows who we are and recognizes our voices. His personality is showing through. So much fun.
At his 2 month doctor's appointment he was 13 lbs and 23 1/2 inches so I imagine he is about 14 lbs now. He is our little chubby baby. So cute. I find that I could really just stare at him all day long and never get bored. Motherhood is by far the hardest thing that I have ever done in my life but I wouldn't rather be doing anything else. I would do all of this over and over again knowing that we may possibly have another one just like him!!
Here are some pictures from October:
First trip to Mt Rushmore. I am sure there will be many more!!
Gotta love the tongue!
He just loves taking baths. He is super nervous at first but then is just so happy.
All ready for Church!
Bennett just loves this little firefly toy. I always give it to him sideways on his lap and it ALWAYS ends up upside down close to his head. I think he likes to be hands free while he licks it.
This is him this morning just happy as can be!!
Here are a few videos. The first, I love how he gets super concerned midway through he raindrops song. The second, he loves to just sing along with me. The third video is the first time he was full out laughing. He just loves his daddy pretending to snore/snort.
