Sam's birthday was last Thursday. Let me tell you this, it was way better than last year's birthday. I made Sam a Texas sheet cake which he loves. I always have the hardest time thinking of what to buy him. He just tells me that he doesn't want anything and to just get him a nerf basketball and hoop to hook on the door. He tells me that every year. I ended up giving in and getting it for him and it is really his most favorite present I have ever gotten him. He absolutely loves it and plays it every day. Who knew that I just needed to think what I would buy for my 4 year old nephew and he would be happy. It is fun to see how much he really does love it though. 
We then went to Fuddruckers for dinner for his birthday burger. The fun didn't last too long or should I say the burger. The food made him sick and he had to stop on the way out of the parking lot and throw up in the bushes (maybe a little too much info). He felt a lot better after that and just went back to playing with his nerf basketball. 
He told me that I am going to regret getting it for him, I am thinking maybe I will. I am just glad he actually liked a gift that I got him this year and it was only $5, you can't beat that. We also went to Vermont for his birthday but we will post about that later.

Tell Sam Happy Birthday from us! Too bad we aren't closer- we could've played mad card games to celebrate. I too gave Jord a nerf basketball and hoop one time and it too was one of the preferred gifts. Why DO we try so hard? Sorry the Fudruckers was a no-go. Icky.
I'm so glad he threw up on his birthday. How very memorable. I can't wait to hear all about the Vermont trip!

I love the nerf basketball action shot! It's great and I can just picture Sam doing twists and slams all day long. It's nice that he's easy to please. That is bad news about Fudruckers. I usually like their food. Guess that's the last birthday burger there. I'm glad you had a good one Sam! Have a wonderful year!
Boys will be boys will be boys, right? I never know what to get Jake because if he wants something, he always just buys it himself. Glad your gift was a success!
